The team at Get Yourself Active are proud to have contributed and supported the new report from British Cycling: “Understand the cycling needs and landscape for disabled people and people with long-term health conditions”.
This new report outlines the current range of cycling opportunities for Disabled people and people with long-term health conditions, and explores the extent to which these opportunities are meeting the needs and wants of the current and potential future audiences and makes recommendations for encouraging growth to meet these.
Over three-quarters of Disabled people do not cycle, and a quarter of us think that cycling is not for ‘people like them’. Yet there is also strong interest in cycling among Disabled people – just under one-third of us who do not would like to try. With a disabled population of around 14 million in the UK, this represents a huge growth area in the cycling sector.
