‘Movement without Barriers’ is a co-produced video series designed to support Disabled people, and those who support them, to understand, access and engage with physical activity in ways that work for them.
Through honest conversations, lived experiences, and practical advice, the series explores common barriers to being active, including confidence, mental wellbeing, benefits, reasonable adjustments, and the cost of getting active.
Whether you’re taking your first steps, returning to activity, or looking for information to support others, these videos offer reassurance, encouragement and real-world insights to help you find your own path to being active. Because physical activity isn’t one size fits all. It’s about finding what works for you.
Stay tuned for the release of the 5-part series, coming in September! It will be uploaded on the Get Yourself Active website and Disability Rights UK Youtube.

Amanda Jones, a member of our Sounding Board, wrote this brilliant poem on the daily difficulties of being Disabled and faced with stigmatising and ableist narratives on getting active. Give it a read and share!
