New ‘Insight’ App from The Innovate Trust

The Innovate Trust is a Cardiff-based charity that established the first Supported Living House in the UK in 1974 and has recently developed a fantastic new app called ‘Insight’. The Innovate Trust designed the App to create a safe social media environment where individuals can post photos and send messages to/from their families and social care professionals. As well as being a safe social medial environment, The Innovate Trust has created a wide range of live activities through Zoom for its users.

To reach as many people as possible, they began gifting devices to isolated individuals and asked other organisations to join them by sharing their activities with others. By the end of March 2020, they had gifted devices to 275 people, and things soon blossomed from there. They now have 827 people from across 58 organisations using the App. The App’s users are benefiting from 65 live and 6 recorded activities a week that The Innovate Trust are now running and offering to anyone with a Learning Disability and associated groups, free of charge.
