New section on our website to support you to get active at home

Check out our new Active@Home section on our website – a new collection of resources to support Disabled people to get active at home during the coronavirus outbreak.

As well as releasing our own accessible and inclusive exercise videos developed from research, which are available on our YouTube channel, we have also been interested in finding a way to collate all of the other useful resources from partner organisations that are available to support Disabled people to be active at home.

To  showcase these resources, we have created a new section of the GYA website so that Disabled people and people with long term health conditions can easily find resources to support them to be active during this time.

The new section of the website is easy to navigate, with a helpful video to show individuals how to access the different pages. We have collected videos which individuals can find according to which activity they are interested in. As well as this, we have pages dedicated to other resources, such as worksheets and downloadable resources.

Liddie Bone, Get Yourself Active Project Manager, commented: “Disabled people’s activity levels have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic and during this difficult time, it is more important than ever that we are supporting Disabled people to be active in a way that is right for them. Creating this new section of the website means Disabled people can now easily access resources that have been created by organisations that are doing amazing work to support people to be active during this time.”
