We have partnered with the Centre for Ageing Better and Get Yourself Active are partnering on a project designed to address and challenge the depiction of Disabled people getting active.
These new images exist to challenge stereotypes and communicate a more diverse representation of being older and Disabled. This includes intergenerational photos, showing how young and old alike get active.
We want to provide realistic and positive depictions of older Disabled people getting active with this project. We think it’s vital that such images exist to challenge stereotypes and communicate a more diverse representation of what it means to be older and Disabled.
The photographs are part of the age-positive image that depict older people in non-stereotypical ways. The project will also produce a series of informative guides and Do’s and Don’t (produced in partnership with Disabled people)
We ensured that best practice was employed throughout the project when working with Disabled People’s User Led Organsations and Disabled people.
